Position Overview:

The Media Planner is a crucial position that requires an individual to work well within a team and be prepared for a fast-paced and detail-oriented environment. This individual is expected to show resourcefulness, exhibit accountability, and understand their role well enough to work independently and demonstrate initiative.

The Media Planner coordinates scheduling, processing, and trafficking of advertisements from inception to completion primarily for digital & social channels, as well as occasional support for traditional, offline media channels.


  • Collaborate with the Media Supervisor, Account, and Creative teams to develop strategies and plans

  • Create and present media specific documents such as RFPs, media plans, objectives and strategies decks, and other related functions

  • Support team in media plan development stage to collect RFP responses from partners/ sites, and assist in analyzing proposals and partner negotiations

  • Traffic ad creative and required tracking tags through partner sources

  • Set up 3rd party ad server/tracker system: follows through to ensure sites are enabled, functioning properly and all materials are received from creative team

  • Execute Quality Assurance (QA) of tracking functionality and creative units to identify and solve any issues

  • Create campaign post launch information such as screenshots, links, and placement information to demonstrate proof of placement for clients

  • Enter and manage plans in billing system, track insertion orders, and process invoices

  • Assist in the management of day-to-day communication with key partners: clients vendors, and partner agencies

  • Build campaign performance reports for the client that are inclusive of information from third party servers and site direct reporting

  • Garner insights from performance reports, data and analytics

  • Manage asset distribution, budgeting, and audience targeting within Social Channels (e.g., Facebook Ads Manager)


  • 3 years experience in a Media Assistant/Media Planner role at a digital agency

  • Strong mathematical and analytical skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint and Google Suite

  • Proficiency in Facebook Ads Manager

  • Working knowledge of offline and online research tools
