A JOURNEY

BEYOND ANY MAP.

In order to build suspense for the new ride, Universal created a teaser fictional TV series called Myth Explorer. The series was hosted by Erin Ryder, an adventurer who took her crew on a journey to explore an island that didn't appear on any official map—a rocky, skull-shaped jungle in the Indian Ocean, where the story of King Kong originated. Working alongside Universal's internal strategy, marketing, and creative teams, Questus developed the creative framework to launch this new, stunning attraction.

IMMERSIVE CONTENT

AROUND THE SEARCH

FOR A LEGEND.

Questus built the Myth Explorer content hub, which housed all of the videos, blog posts, and interactive discoveries from Erin’s journey. With weekly releases of content, Erin brought the audience along on her quest to prove the colossal legend was real. The program sparked buzz-worthy PR and social chatter.

A CONNECTED EXPERIENCE

FROM DIGITAL TO PARK.

The final episode of Erin’s journey unveiled the true origin of Myth Explorer and invited those brave enough to join her on a real-life adventure at Universal Orlando’s all-new attraction. In the second phase of the Myth Explorer website, users proved their bravery and skills in a set of interactive games, and competed for a chance to win a VIP trip to meet Erin Ryder and attend the grand opening of Skull Island: Reign of Kong.
